The goal of any surgical fluid waste collection and disposal system is to keep the clinicians and patients from coming in contact with potentially infectious materials during the collection, transportation and disposal of the fluid.The ORwell™ system incorporates several key features to ensure what goes into the system stays there until it can be disposed of safely.
- Fluid trap shutoff valve
- Overflow protection
- Three-stage, HEPA-rated air filter
In addition, the single-use disposable collection disc eliminates the potential for any residual waste to be present within the mobile unit. In the case of systems with reusable collection containers, residual waste can potentially lead to possible cross contamination between surgical cases.
