Program documents
Cardinal Health develops and supports programs that help healthcare providers implement best practices that can truly transform patient care. Between 2008 and 2012, the Cardinal Health Foundation invested more than $12 million, in a wide variety of programs, to improve healthcare efficiency, cost-effectiveness and quality.
Again this year, the Cardinal Health Foundation is seeking proposals from healthcare institutions that will impact the efficiency and quality of care. Grants between $15,000 and $35,000 will be awarded to approximately 25 organizations in 2013.
Focus areas include:
- Medication safety across transitions of care from the acute setting to the community/home
- Implementation of WHO checklists in the operating room

Example proposals
Below are several examples of proposals that were funded in the 2010 E3 Grant Program. Please note, these are excerpts from the applicants’ full proposals and not the entire submission. In all cases the applicants responded to each question asked and provided a detailed budget and budget narrative. In most cases graphic representation of baseline data was also included.
We hope this information is helpful.
