Double-glove with ProtexisTM Surgical GlovesDouble-gloving is the wearing of two pairs of surgical gloves, one over the other. It is a recommended safety practice to prevent infections, maintain sterility, and reduce sharps injury. Double-gloving with a colored underglove alerts wearers or indicates when there is a breach in the system, the potential of injury, and the need for a glove change Cardinal Health offers “blue” double-gloving systems in support of sharps safety initiatives. The system includes a “blue” foundation with a light-colored overglove. Our undergloves - ProtexisTM PI Blue with Neu-Thera® and ProtexisTM Latex Blue with Neu-Thera® surgical gloves - are powder-free, available in synthetic polyisoprene (PI) and natural rubber latex (latex), and are blue in color. In addition, these undergloves are coated with Neu-Thera® emollient coating for donnability as well as protecting, restoring, moisturizing and soothing hands during glove wear. Both can be easily paired with any light-colored offering in the Cardinal Health surgical glove portfolio, for instance ProtexisTM PI Micro or ProtexisTM Latex Hydrogel surgical gloves. When worn together, the system helps make breaches visible and alerts wearers to dangerous perforations. |

More than 50,000 members of our nation's armed forces have been physically wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. Studies estimate more than 400,000 live with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). The mission of Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. WWP exists to raise awareness and to enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
