Moving medication verification to the bedside requires that all medications be bar coded to the unit dose level for the program to be successful. Unfortunately, some medications are not available in unit dose packaging, necessitating that hospital pharmacies package and bar code those products. To address this challenge and support your patient safety initiative, Cardinal Health has developed ReadyScan®.ReadyScan reduces the number of oral solid unit doses that have to be packaged and bar-coded by the hospital. This reduces capital expenditures, labor and materials costs.
ReadyScan provides bar coded unit dose packaged medications for products that are not available in unit dose format. To insure quality and safety, these products are packaged under current good manufacturing practices in Zanesville, Ohio at a Cardinal Health FDA licensed facility. These products are also available in CardinalASSIST® packaging.
Finished product is stocked in your Cardinal Health distribution center with its own inventory number so it may be ordered using cardinal.com and delivered the next day with your regular order.
